Summer On Reign Of Blood

Reign Of Blood has just turned 19, which means next year is the big 20. On Reign Of Blood's 10th birthday, I said "Wouldn't another 10 years be magical?" - well, we're almost there. I might mumble a bit in my Memoir blog series but I generally play my cards tight to my chest because things change on a weekly basis, priorities change, and new things pop up. As I said in my recent Memoir, the suggestion forum board is at your disposal, even though there is already lots of things in the pipeline for the game. However, I am going to give you a peek into what will be coming up this year as well as announce an exciting event for June.

Coming Soon - Blood & Rumble

You can take some comfort that there is nothing major in terms of the UI that will be changing any time soon (unless something happens and I'm forced to). I love the desktop layout we've had since 2021. The mobile layout needs tweaking here and there, but that's mainly from a usability standpoint rather than an aesthetic one, as some links and buttons are too small in places. We have just recently had a rebrand, which I love, so we're all set there.

There are two major projects I have been and will continue to chip away at. The first is an extra dynamic to our most valuable resource - blood. We all love Plasma, but what about Platelets? I mean, Platelets are like 1% of blood, so it's for sure time to think about this. Platelets or not, I have been toying with this idea for some time, but getting it right has required quite a bit of finesse, but it's going well.

Another upcoming Reign Of Blood feature we will see later this year is something I'm calling Project Rumble. The Cambridge dictionary describes rumble as to make a continuous, low sound, or to move slowly while making such a sound - that's right, folks, we're going to learn the art of humming and crawling simultaneously. Well, something like that, I'm sure.

June SUMMER SURGE

Our second Surge of the year will take place in June! On Thursday, 12th June and Friday, 13th June will have another COVEN SURGE. During a Coven Surge event, all covens are put through a gruelling fight that lasts up to 48 hours. A Surge takes place over 48 hourly rounds, and in each round, covens can score points over different categories. Covens will then be ranked by their total score based on their hourly performance throughout the entire Surge and then rewarded handsomely. You will automatically be entered and will need at least 500 PvP wins to claim any rewards. You can view the Coven Surge page for more information.

June Boost Event

The first 11 days of June you'll be able to enjoy various boosts! On the first 3 days of the month, the Escalating Booster Event will be active. On the final 8-days, they'll be a different boost on different days. You'll be able to check out the Calendar to see what boost will be active when. Remember to save some Turns for Surge on Thursday 12th June.

The summer doesn't end there, though! We'll also be having some extra summer fun in July and August too, but we'll go more of those details closer to the time. Also, Sunday June 1st will also be Annual RoB Staff Appreciation Day - so keep an eye out for that.

Recent Updates

While the payment methods we have on the Reign Of Blood Store satisfy the vast majority of vampires, a few new payment methods have been added. First is enabling (via Stripe) pay-later services such as Afterpay, Clearpay, and Klarna (PayPal offers their version of this too). Some of these will be particularly useful for when a special pops up before payday - which is feedback I get quite often. There is also Amazon Pay where you can use your Amazon payment method and finally GoCardless which allows quick and easy bank transfers from your mobile banking app, no card required, for UK and some EU vampires. In other news, you may have noticed a new RP page layout to focus more on Scribbles, new Thermoden location layouts, co-op quest logs, and more.
